'How Many Times' Will Eryn Allen Kane Thrill Us?

In 2015, Chi-Town based singer-songwriter Eryn Allen Kane made us take notice by giving us not only one of the best songs of 2015 with "Have Mercy," she also delivered one of our favorite EPs of last year with the stunning Aviary: Act I. Her high flying act continues in 2016 with the upcoming arrival of the second half of her EP series, Aviary: Act II. To prepare us for her next flight, Ms. Kane has dropped the new track "How Many Times," and like what's come before it, it's another stunning, socially conscious work from the up-and-coming talent.

While playing minor key piano scales, Eryn's delicate rasp leads the song as she asks for clarity. Specifically, she wants to know how many lies we'll continue to be told and how many lives will they cost. She's a woman fed up with the problems of the world and her anguish is most definitely felt here. As her vocal grows in intensity, so does the musical backdrop, picking up drums, bass, guitar and background vocals along the way before culminating in the quiet in which the song began.

Chicago Bouncers can tune in to Eryn singing "How Many Times" tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. on Windy City Live. For the rest of us, the song is available for streaming below (and a free download can be snagged here). Aviary: Act II is set to be released on February 2nd.
