2016 is already looking pretty bright for our beloved Lalah Hathaway. Coming off a successful 2015 with yet another GRAMMY Award on her shelf  and the release of her first live album, Lalah Hathaway LIVE, the songstress started the year off with her third GRAMMY nom for her cover of her father's classic song "Little Ghetto Boy." It looks like Lalah's got a little something else cooking as well, as she has teamed with rap legend Snoop Dogg for a revamped version of the song, which is simply called "Ghetto Boy," and released an accompanying video.

The song itself features Snoop spitting a hard luck story of a ghetto boy growing up on the rough side of the streets. As he weaves his tale, the overhauled production courtesy of Terrace Martin along with the some fancy piano work from jazz talent Robert Glasper switches up the original's mood. When Lalah finally takes the lead near the track's end, the production swells along with her cry that "everything has got to get better," before coming to a smooth close. For the video, she revisits footage from her "Little Ghetto Boy" clip, with Snoop's appearance of course getting more screen time to accommodate the rapper's flow. She also includes a group shot with her, Snoop, Terrace and saxophonist Kamasi Washington.

"Ghetto Boy" is available for purchase on iTunes now. Check out the visuals for the song below.
