Kamau Agyeman, or just KAMAU, burst on the scene in 2015 with his own unique reinterpretations of Andre 3000’s "Hey Ya" and Adele’s "Hometown Glory." His signature beatbox/a cappella style made him stand out from the crowd in a very good way. Since then, the DMV native has been lauded by Pigeons and Planes, NPR and Billboard as one to watch. The emerging artist is continuing to make good on that promise with the remix to his single "Jusfayu" featuring Lion Babe and No Wyld.

The "Jusfayu" remix is a change up from the sparse drum, beatboxing/a cappella groove of the original. Produced by Lion Babe’s Astro Raw, the soundbed is a mix of hard hitting synths, handclaps and chimes. This is the perfect backdrop for KAMAU’s raspy rap/sung vocals. Jillian Hervey takes over the second verse, delivering her amazing vocals, while No Wyld plugs in a solid rap towards the end. With so many hands in the pot, this refix could have come off as a hot mess. However, the performers have a natural chemistry that just works.

KAMAU is currently wowing crowds across the country on tour with Lion Babe and promoting his EP, A Gorgeous Fortune. You can check out tour dates here and find his EP on iTunes and Amazon. You can also learn more about the emerging artist by hitting him up on Facebook.
