By now, we're sure it's safe to say that most of us are immersed in the euphoria of listening to Maxwell's latest album, blackSUMMERS'night. Some lucky souls might even be basking in the afterglow of seeing the man do his thing on the ESSENCE Festival stage in NOLA over the weekend. However, if you somehow missed the memo that the first Maxwell album in seven years was released or you're holding out (we're not judging you, but we're judging you), then feast your eyes on his recent appearance on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
The crooner made a stop on the late night program ahead of the album's release and delivered a surprisingly energetic version of SUMMERS' lead single "Lake By The Ocean" for the outdoor audience. Decked out in his dapper best as always, Max started the set off pretty laid-back, his mirrored shades hiding his eyes as he let his vocals do the talking (and seducing). However, once he stepped down to be closer to the crowd, he got a little bit more animated as he interacted. But it's when the band switched the arrangement slightly that the rhythm took over him as he hopped across the stage like a man possessed (at one point we thought he actually might bust out a dab or two). Based of this, we can only imagine what the performances on his summer tour are going to look like.
