Stevie Wonder Pays Tribute To Michelle Obama On 'The Tonight Show'

We only have eight days left in the Obama presidency. Yes, we're completely distraught about it, too. Thankfully we've been getting more than a few moments to help commemorate the history that we witnessed over the past eight years and help us prepare the next four years. One such moment came last night when our gracious first lady, Michelle Obama , appeared for one last time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. To make the occasion extra special, host Jimmy Fallon didn't skimp on the star power, tapping revered comedians Dave Chappelle and Jerry Seinfeld to be on hand for fun and games. However, the episodes most remarkable moment came from music legend Stevie Wonder.

Wonder, who took the stage near the show's end, dusted off two classics — "Isn't She Lovely" and "My Cherie Amour" — to pay tribute to our one-of-a-kind first lady. Making it even more special, he altered the lyrics to mention Michelle by name, often shouting out how much he loved her and even singing "my Michelle amour" at one point. When the likes of Stevie Wonder changes one of his biggest hits just for you, you know you've made an impact. As Stevie sang, Michelle, Jimmy, Jerry and Dave each appeared just as spellbound as we were, even joining in for the familiar "la-la-la-la-la-la" portion of "My Cherie Amour."

Of course, Stevie's appearance wasn't the only fun to be had during the first lady's appearance, with Michelle helping Jimmy with his "Thank You Notes" segment (with backing from The Roots, of course) and a rousing game of "Catchphrase" with Jerry and Dave. Check out all the wonderful moments below.

(Oh, and if you happen to love Michelle — and President Barack Obama — as much as you love '90s R&B, boy have we got the shirt just for you.)
