Beyoncé Starts Formation Scholars Program

It seems we can't go a week without talking about Beyoncé — she is music's reigning Queen after all, and a benevolent at that. The powerhouse performer, who is celebrating the anniversary of LEMONADE (which happened to be the best-selling album of 2016 worldwide, by the way), announced this week that she's starting her Formation Scholars scholarship program. According to her website, the scholarship is meant to "encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious, and confident." The fund will go to one student each at four colleges: Howard University, Spelman College, Berklee College of Music and Parsons School of Design. Also according to the announcement, the scholarships will be available to "female incoming, current, or graduate students pursuing studies in the creative arts, music, literature, or African-American studies.” Looks like all our women who are academic need to throw their hands up at Bey. The scholarship will be available for the 2017-2018 academic year. #GetInFormation
