Jill Scott, Yasiin Bey, Jidenna, Kaytranada & More Set To Rock The ONE Musicfest 2017

Festival season is officially upon us! This past weekend alone saw three major festivals happen: Philadelphia's Roots Picnic, the DMV's Capital Jazz Fest and Governors Ball in NYC. We have a whole summer of music festivals ahead of us, and we can add one more to the list with the announcement of the star-studded lineup for the ONE Musicfest 2017 in Atlanta. Reigning as the largest urban, progressive music and arts festival, each year the event showcases an eclectic and diverse range of artists and features everything from classic to current hip-hop, R&B, alternative and rock music. This year, it all takes place on September 9th at the Lakewood Amphitheater, with a kickoff party the night before at The Tabernacle.

To start the festivities off right, Friday night’s party will feature performances by Thundercat, J.I.D., Ari Lennox and Noname. Though the groove will likely continue into the wee hours of the morning, attendees will want to rest up for a full day of fun and funk, with 11 hours of nonstop music on two performance stages and three DJ stages on Saturday. Jill Scott will certainly do her thing, and Jidenna, Kaytranada and Tank and the Bangas will most definitely keep everyone dancing. Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Sean Paul will tap into our West Indian roots, and classic hip-hop fans are sure to rock with Too $hort. In what promises to be his final show (*sheds tear*), ATL will send Yasiin Bey (the artist formerly known as the Mighty Mos Def) off in style as he goes out with a bang in his farewell performance.

Following suit with its powerhouse 2016 lineup, the ONE Musicfest evolves each year and has been named among the "Can’t Miss Festivals" by Billboard, Rolling Stone, MTV and Revolt TV. There's something for every type of music fan, and with such a diverse and stellar lineup, it certainly packs a lot of bang for your buck. President and founder of Sol Fusion Media Group, Jason “J” Carter says, “We’ve built something that fans can really look forward to and we aim to create moments that inspire and invigorate attendees. Expect this year to be historic. We can’t wait to see you there."
