Tawiah Returns To 'Recreate'

Starting today, Bounce-Worthy Wednesdays are back! We're pretty excited to showcase a new crop of rising artists who've caught our attention. But don't think for a second that we aren't just as geeked when one of our Bounce-Worthy alums drops some newness in our lap – especially when said newness is long overdue as is the case with alt-soulstress Tawiah.

Now don't get it twisted, our girl has been busy, racking up a slew of impressive collaborative ventures with artists like Mark Ronson, CeeLo Green, Blood Orange, Eric Lau, Paul Oakenfold and Muhsinah over the last decade. Not to mention establishing her very own musical collective-turned record label Lima Limo. Still, the South Londoner hasn't released a solo project since her FREEdomDROP mixtape back in 2013, so news of her forthcoming Recreate EP is cause for celebration.

The project finds Tawiah exploring new sounds, concepts and textures with the assistance of co-producer Sam Beste (of Hejira). The exploration isn't just limited to the album's sound either. In addition to premiering the title track, a gorgeous vocalization of her introspective journey, Tawiah debuts a new look as well. For "Recreate Intro," director Georgi Banks-Davies gives us an intimate view of Tawiah as she undergoes a powerful transformation in her quest to discover "Who on earth have I become?" Watch the short but captivating clip below and look for the official release of Recreate on June 23rd.
