Back in May, Ne-Yo blessed us with the upbeat track “Another Love Song.” The singer, songwriter and fedora aficionado also dropped quite a few other loosies that month, including "Earn Your Love," "More Than I Should" and a cover of Kendrick Lamar's "HUMBLE." that's better off forgotten. Since then he's gotten kind of quiet on us a spring has turned into summer. We wondered if he went back to the drawing board. Was he going to going to replace Tyrese in TGT and become TNT? Possibly he was just busy as a judge World of Dance. Whatever the case, he’s back, not only with a video for "Another Love Song" but with a familiar swagger that we’ve missed from the super star.
The concept for the video is that Ne-Yo has taken a young lady out for brunch at the newest hot spot. However, she’s more concerned with getting the light just right for her selfies than the man sitting across from her. When she leaves for the bathroom (to take more selfies), Ne-Yo takes it as an opportunity to get the party started. He’s chats it up with other ladies, shows off his slick dance skills and gets everyone up out their seats to join him in cutting a rug.
Fun, flirty and carefree, the video for “Another Love Song” brings the song to life in vivid color. "Another Love Song" will be featured on Ne-Yo's upcoming seventh album, Good Man. Our guess is as good as yours when it will come out. However, we'll be looking forwarded to bopping to "Another Love Song" when it comes on at our next brunch event and fight the urge to recreate this visual on the spot.
