If you're not familiar with Aminé, you should be. The Portland native has been making a name for himself on the hip-hop front, even getting our attention earlier this year with his Kehlani-featuring track "Heebiejeebies." Since then, the up-and-coming rapper dropped his debut Good For You to much acclaim. Now he's gone and dropped a wacky, self-directed visual for his fun single "Spice Girl," and he's even included a couple familiar faces in it.
Aminé has always had a flair for the quirky when it comes to videos and "Spice Girl" is no exception. As he waxes poetic about the type of girl he wants while working in a few clever Spice Girls references, a lot of weird ish goes down. In the opening shot, the camera pans out to reveal a sitting Aminé with a naked girl laying her head in his lap. But if you look a little closer, you'll realize that girl definitely has his face — right down to the goatee. But it doesn't stop there, as we're introduced to his rapping foot, larger than life bottles of sunscreen, rooms covered entirely by yellow Post-It notes and even more oddities. Along the way, we also get a cameo from Issa Rae who makes a jailhouse visit to the rapper and raises hell, and one from original Spice Girl Mel B, who offers up some foul-mouthed advice. Before the clip ends, we're also given a brief clip for his track "STFU," with an unimpressed Aminé delivering some tight rhymes.
