Craig David Shows Young Hearts Running Free In 'Heartline'

After laying low for a few years, Craig David is back like he never left. He dropped his comeback album Following My Intuition last September, and he's not keeping us waiting too long for his next project. His seventh studio album entitled The Time Is Now is scheduled to drop in January 2018. He released the collection's first single "Heartline" last month, and now he unveils the track's music video.

"Heartline" sees David baring his soul and ready to risk it all for the object of his affection. "Girl, I'm not afraid / Ain't running away tonight / Put my heart on the line for you / Put my heart on the line for you," he sincerely sings on the chorus. His friends may think he's crazy, but he's simply crazy in love. Craig's voice still has that boyish charm that we fell for when we first heard him at the turn of the century.

We're continuing to fall for Craig David's output with the music video for "Heartline" and its storyline of lovers from different sides of the tracks. It's a tale as old as time, but this story takes place in Ibiza and focuses on a struggling artist and privileged young woman. The artist's bills are piling up, and he has to take a break from creating to get a job. He works as a groundskeeper at a mansion where the daughter of the owner catches his attention and soon his heart. They fall in fast love, but there's trouble in paradise when her father finds out. They're separated for a spell, but nothing can keep these two lovebirds from flying together. It's a fitting and heartfelt treatment that matches the theme of the song.

We may have to wait a few more months until Craig David's next project bows, but expect to see a lot of him between now and then. In case you mixed his pop-up performance on BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge a few weeks ago, after you watch the "Heartline" video get into a live performance of the track and Craig David's epic mashup of DJ Khaled, Rihanna and Bryson Tiller's summer smash "Wild Thoughts" and Stardust's house classic "Music Sounds Better With You."
