The Rebirth, a Los Angeles-based Nu Jazz/Soul group, have been quietly existing under-the-radar since their first album This Journey In was released last year. Catching the attention of tastemakers such as UK's Gilles Peterson who featured their song "Taking Me Down" on his weekly podcast, The Rebirth evoke comparisons to a an organic soulful sound of ages past. As proof of this, peep their homage to Stevie Wonder's Songs In The Key of Life on the cover art of their album above. This septet have drawn comparisons to Earth Wind & Fire, and the Roy Ayers Music Project a/k/a/ RAMP, whom they will be sharing a bill with when they perform in LA this Saturday at the Crash Mansion.Their debut album is available for download through their MySpace website.
