Name That Beat: Like Hot Butter On Popcorn

Hello everyone! Welcome back to one of your favorite escapes from workweek grudgery: Name That Beat. Last week's beat was solved and summed up quite nicely and quickly by Roddycat. The correct answer was Bob James' "Blue Lick" which was sampled by Digable Planets on their song "Jettin'" from their second album, Blowout Comb. Good job! We'll be sending you your lifetime supply of free air as soon as we get the chance! 🙂

This week's sample is below. To be correct, you must provide the following in your answer:
  • The title and artist of the original track below.
  • The artist and title of the track who sampled it.

  • Good luck!

    1. Original artist & song - Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon". Can't place where the song was sampled....

    2. This is literally my favorite jazz fusion song OF ALL TIME.
I have multiple copies of this album, one of which is framed on my wall.
My favorite Chameleon usage is "Open Your Eyes" from Organized Konfusion's debut album.
Ill Mami, you're a digger after my own heart.

    3. That's too easy -- Herbie Hancock's "Chameleon

    4. Late Pass
Since we are all in agreement as this is
      Herbie Hancock - Chameleon
2Pac - If My Homie Calls
There are a lot of usages of this track but this one always springs to my mind because this was when I really started reading liner notes as a ritual.
