Alice Smith Gives Us A ‘New Religion’ – Live!

We've talked about soul singer Alice Smith before here on SoulBounce.  We even gave you the heads up when her debut album, For Lovers, Dreamers and Me, was officially re-released last October.  With a voice that commands your attention, sending shivers down your spine with her alternate purrs and growls, the Grammy nominated DC native with the NYC flair has fast become a major soul player.  In short, the young lady can blow.

And while the album may be a good starting point of appreciation, until you've heard her sing live, you have no. idea.  She made the rounds earlier this year, appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Ellen.  Recently, a new video clip of her singing her first single "New Religion" live in Philadelphia late last year surfaced on the net, so we had to share.  And with the Black Lily Festival taking place this week, consider this an appetizer to what promises to be some great, live entertainment.  Take a look and a listen while we sit here twitching with anticipation for her next project.

  1. Although I'm not a huge fan of her music and wouldn't say I'm on pins and needles waiting on her next album, I have to say I do dig her live performance. I was first introduced to her at Lily last year. The power in her voice and her stage presence definitely make you stop and take notice.

  2. I dig Alice's voice and her music. She's a unique talent.
