Due to "customer demand" (i.e., a leak) Q-Tip's The Renaissance is available as a super-early, new-fangled digital download on Amazon, iTunes, and some other online stores I don't use. This is smashing news, since the succeeding quote all-but holds SOULBOUNCE.COM personally responsible for making people want this album so badly:
"The online demand to hear the new Q-Tip album was so high that we worked with all of our digital retail partners (ie iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon MP3, Walmart MP3, MySpace Music, Napster) to make the album available for purchase to their consumers before the planned street date. We're excited to be able to have the flexibility to respond so quickly to Tip's fans and allow them the opportunity to purchase 'THE RENAISSANCE'," says Cameo Carlson, SVP of Digital Business Development for Universal Motown Republic Group.
Yes, I will take full credit for this because I've been on Q-Tip duty since this site began. But in all seriousness, there's a downside. If you're anything like me, you were going to vote, get your free Ben & Jerry's "I Voted" ice cream and purchase The Renaissance on 11/4. So my "Obama/Kamaal" experience is slightly ruined. So, for all of you that put The Renaissance in the lead of our recent poll, you can get your legal digital copy now, then rock out on your iPod on the way to the polls! [RO]
