Jay-Z 'Baracks the Vote' in South Beach

In case you haven't heard, this is the last week you'll be able to register to vote in the November elections. Jay-Z and Wyclef did their part to Barack the vote over the weekend in the form of two FREE concerts (yes, FREE. Hear that, Maxie?) at downtown Miami's Bayfront Park last night and today that doubled as voter registration drives. From volunteers with clipboards and pens decked out in Obama-wear to Jigga proclaiming to the masses, "I'm not here to tell you who to vote for. But I'll tell you who I'm voting for. Barack Obama," it's pretty clear where allegiances were pledged. Highlights of the show included a "F#ck Bush!" chant from the crowd when his image appeared on the giant screen, and Jay chuckling while stating to the crowd, "this is where I always get in trouble. The guy on the other side, I'm not talking about him. I'm talking about somebody else ... someone else on that other ticket ...." before the beat for "99 Problems (But A B#tch Ain't One)" blared from the speakers, goshdarnit. Good times.

In other Jay-Z news, his new album, Blueprint 3, has a release date: December 2nd -- two days before his birthday and 28 days after the election. Hopefully, there will be a reason to celebrate all three. [MNT]
