Case Features Black Beauty In 'Lovely' Video

Remember Case? Of course you do. Who can forget his hits such as "Touch Me, Tease Me" and "Faded Pictures" at the turn of the century. Although he wasn't the greatest singer, he had his niche in the R&B game and a solid fan base. Then he disappeared after accidentally shooting himself in the neck--which he miraculously survived with barely a scratch--and falling into label limbo at Def Soul circa 2002. Now he's taken his destiny into his own hands and has created an independent label with plans to release a new album, The Rose Experience, early next year. "Lovely" is the first single from the album and Case slips comfortably back into his zone. Although a brand new production, the song's video looks a bit dated--I had to remind myself that it was '08 and not '98 while watching this joint. Despite the time warp, I do appreciate that the video featured women on the curvier end of the spectrum with various skin tones and hair textures. I think this was what Ryan Leslie meant to do, but didn't.
