Late last year, I briefly mentioned a group known as Thunderheist, a duo hailing from The Great White North who managed to infuse some class into a booty shake song, if such a thing were possible. Interestingly enough, this duo's star has been rising before our very eyes. Their track "Jerk It," whose video is below, has been featured in Mickey Rourke's comeback film The Wrestler. While this song is not my favorite, it has its own catchy quality. And when I say catchy I mean the ability to stay in your head way too long after its been played. And, yes, the video is a bit experimental and minimal in its approach, but that'll give you more time to focus on the music. My only criticism, I would have loved to see a '80s-era Pepa look-alike twerking her thang in this video. By the way, if you're in the NYC area tonight, you'll be able to catch a performance of them at Santos' House Party. Props to Killahbeez for the lowdown.
