Video For Wayna's 'My Love' is Bruising, Poignant

What makes "My Love" so moving is the deceptively sweet cadence with which the song moves along juxtaposed against the agonizing and conflicted situation Wayna sings about. How better to convey the ambivalence and pain and posturing tangled up in domestic violence? In this short-film styled video (complete with opening and closing credits) by the Grammy nominated singer, she acts as protagonist, grappling with all of the physical abuse and emotional justification the song lays out. At times the video feels slightly overwrought but with such neglectfully overlooked subject matter, the lack of subtlety is necessary and leaves no room for misinterpretation. [H/T: OKP]
