Stevie Wonder Celebrated At The White House In Grand Fashion

Last night PBS broadcast the In Performance at the White House celebration of Stevie Wonder in what was a star-studded, historic event. It was star-studded because amongst the Washington dignitaries in attendance were the likes of SoulBounce faves India.Arie, Mary Mary, and Esperanza Spalding who all performed and historic because this marked Stevie's first time performing at the White House. The iconic musician and humanitarian was honored by President and Mrs. Obama who presented Wonder with the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song at the Wednesday night taping. In the event that you were a loser like me and missed the actual telecast, don't despair because starting today PBS will be showing the entire show online. 1. I watched it last night and it was great! It was wonderful to see different artist and genres interpreting Wonder's music. If you love music and Stevie, you need to watch this program 🙂

  2. LOL @ "please give it up for Stevie Wonder." A little too Arsenio Hall-ish.

  3. I watched last night. I thought the crowd of dignitaries was a little "stiff". But Stevie rocked the East Room with "Superstition".

  4. Esperanza Spalding version of Overjoyed was the ish. And she is fine as hell too!!!

  5. It comes on tonight in my area, but I heard that India.Arie did not sound good or seem her usual self on stage. Illness or pressure maybe?

  6. Well, paint the White House BLACK! Now I want to see that basketball court up there in the replacement of that tennis court. It's really going to be on then.

  7. I loved the "give it up" which he said twice. Even better would have been "show your love". India was a dissapointment, I felt for her. I really enjoyed Esperanza. Everyone else was fine, but just ok. The room was a bit stiff so no one, not even Stevie, really got down.
