Jay-Z’s Latest Appearances Are Sure To ‘Ad’ Up

Jay-Z has been on quite a roll this past week. Fresh from his appearance on Real Time With Bill Maher on Friday, this weekend a new ad for the highly anticipated (and recently leaked) Blueprint 3 album dropped online, sponsored by online music engine Rhapsody and MTV. The partnership includes three TV spots, the album being available for fans to listen to for free two weeks before its release, and an early release date (September 8th) that includes two exclusive bonus tracks. Also, this morning, Jay held court at Madison Square Garden, announcing a September 11th benefit concert that will fund the New York Police and Fire Widows and Childrens' Charity. Tickets will be a flat rate of $50 and will go on sale at noon on September 8th. The commercial, which is pretty dope, is below, with the press conference clip after the bounce. Kudos to Jay for giving back.

Too bad Rihanna's singing on it :-/

  2. BP3 is a bum ass album. I have listen to it 3 or 4 times to try and "get into it" I think only his hardcore fans are gonna be feeling this album. I have tried but I am just not feeling this LP, Mr. Carter has lost that hunger, we've seen it a hundred times, our favorite street rapper, blows up gets mega sucessful and his music gets shitter every album. Jay might have his business empire on lock but as far as the streets go, dude has lost it.

  3. Please. Jay+z's not "giving bac.". He's trying to sellalbums. This is big face time for him. He wouldn't do this if he didn't have an album dropping. Please. Go eat hamburger helper with your wife.

  4. Big ups to Jay-z on that. What i've heard of the album i like. It sounds like Jay-z was just having fun with this but the lyrical ability is still evident.
