Darien's Visit Home Was A 'Summer Breeze'

Sometimes, when an artist returns to his hometown to perform, nerves can get to him. The pressure of having to live up to expectations, or to "represent" for the neighborhood can bring even the greatest performer to his knees. This definitely wasn't the case for SoulBounce fave Darien, who, in addition to spending the summer heavily promoting his album If These Walls Could Talk both domestically and internationally, returned to his hometown of Mount Vernon, performing at the town's 2009 Summer Breeze Series. Nerves? Nope. Pressure? What pressure? It was more like a party, with Darien engaging the home crowd as he sang cuts from the album. Check out "Love Revolution" below, which features rapper LuQuantumLeap, and "You" after the bounce. And in case you can't get enough of the charismatic crooner, you can catch him at this weekend's Atlanta Soul Summit. If you can't make it there, you can also check for him here.
