Kudos to whomever came up with this latest ad from MTV, in which the once-in-a-while music channel promotes its tribute to Michael Jackson during this Sunday's Video Music Awards with a flattering nod to the King of Pop that involves...gloves. Specifically, the one he made famous beginning in 1983 on the Motown 25 television special. As you already know, Janet Jackson will be opening the live telecast with what has been billed as a must-see performance to celebrate her late brother's musical legacy. Personally, I can't wait to see it. I'm not sure if it's the music, the New York-ness of the ad, or the subtle way it all unfolds. Whatever it is, I really like it. In fact, I might even "glove" it. Heh.
