Nothing, and I mean nothing, makes me smile more than live music. Not sure if it's the drums, the horns, the vocals or a combination of them all, but from the minute I enter a venue and the music is flowing, that smile is plastered on my grill. That's the feeling I get from the newest video from UK soulstress Alice Russell, who is thankfully still promoting last year's stellar Pot of Gold album. The video, for "Let There Be Loving," shows Alice and her band in a rhythmic wonderland, rocking out with horns, strings and some of the most vibrant backup dancers I've seen in a long time. It looks like a good old fashioned jam session, the kind you'd see at your local hole in the wall. Just the way I like it. Yup, I'm smiling. So no more words from me.
