October 15th is a very special day. That is the day when Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti was born and had he lived he would have turned 71 years old this year--and would no doubt still be rocking the stage. Fela may no longer be with us in physical form, but his musical legacy has lived on and influenced so many the world over. On his birthday, New York City Bouncers will get to honor this legacy for themselves at the Felabration featuring DJ's Rich Medina and Ian Friday, a film screening of Music Is the Weapon and a live performance by Afro Mosaic Soul at our favorite NYC nightspot, S.O.B.'s. And you know how we do, we'd like to bless one NYC Bouncer and a guest with free tickets to the Felabration this Thursday. Prepare to shake your body down to the ground with Medina and Friday on DJ detail while celebrating the iconic Godfather of Global Soul.
