'The Last Time' The Family Stand 'Were Here' They Weren't Rocking Out As Hard As This

My fondest memory of The Family Stand involves their breakout single that took over my Summer of 1990. "Ghetto Heaven" was so funky, fronted by vocal powerhouse Sandra St. Victor, and full of social commentary but not in a way that made you want to shut it off. Several years later, we find The Family Stand tackling similarly unbouncy content in "The Last Time We're Here," except something about this song is so unexpected that I personally can't help but to nod my head steadily. It's like the best elements of all my favorite Rock songs got combined with great lyrics and great singing to form a great situation. Their forthcoming album Definition will have more great sounds such as this one, so make sure you're up to date on what's in store by checking their website. In the meantime, I'll keep this one on repeat. [H/T: BAL]
