I literally remarked to someone yesterday that I missed Tweet's voice and really wished that she would bless all of us with another album really soon. I also can't even begin to tell you how leery I am of remixes, especially remixes of songs that are not begging to be tampered with. When I saw that TOKiMONSTA, currently the only woman in Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder crew, had remixed Tweet's "Call Me", I was slightly intrigued. I was even more pleased after I pressed play. Sometimes remixes are great when they become something else entirely. Other times, remixes are great when their original elements are allowed to make appearances to remind you of their vital importance, e.g. a child having his parent's eyes or giggle. This remix manages to sound like the song we know and love while sounding fresh and clean at the same time. [H/T:Brainfeeder]
