Newish Videos From Mayer Hawthorne, Quadron, Little Dragon & Private

I haven't done a Friday afternoon video roundup in a hot minute and it's high time since a few videos have flown below the radar but are more than worthy
of SoulBounce coverage. This week I'll be looking at relatively new videos from some of the more diverse (read: non-Black) artists who populate our iPods here at SBHQ: Mayer Hawthorne, Quadron, Little Dragon and Private.

Up first is Mayer Hawthorne with the video for his song "I Wish It Would Rain" that finds him probably wishing he left the house with an umbrella or raincoat. While everyone else is enjoying sunshine and blue skies, a storm cloud follows his every move drenching him with rain water. This video is an excellent complement to the song's somber tone. Now somebody get this man a towel.

Danish duo Quadron get all equestrian in the video for their song "Pressure." The video follows the typical storyline of girl trying to get boy's attention, but they throw some horses in the mix, shake and stir.  Does she get the guy in the end while Coco sings and Robin plays the piano? You'll just have to watch until the end to find out.

I'm slightly disappointed that there isn't one blinking pig in Little Dragon's video for "Blinking Pigs," but I'll live. What we do have here, however, is a couple walking through a way-too-dark forest with aggressive bugs, flashlights lighting up the sky, fish swimming outside of water, metallic stars and other assorted things that make you say "hmmm." Interesting visuals for an interesting song.

I just discovered the group Private last week and they have since become by guilty pleasure thanks to the song and video for "My Secret Lover." The Dutch trio is giving me a steaming plate of pure '80s Pop right here and I'm eating it up. I could totally hear WHAM! singing this joint back in the day.  The lead singer is nowhere near George Michael Andrew Ridgeley levels of fine, though.
