‘Say’ What You Want About Bobby McFerrin

If you're still stuck on "Don't Worry, Be Happy" being the first thing you think of when you think of Bobby McFerrin, then you have done yourself a disservice for the past 22 years, my friend. Do yourself a favor and read his Wikipedia page because there's way too much for me to get into here. Aside from "Heaven's Design" from his Bang! Zoom being one of my most favorite songs ever, and fancying his son Taylor McFerrin's sound, this vocalist and composer has released a new album, VOCAbuLaries, this week. "Say Ladeo" is quite the swoon-worthy track, and I have no one else to thank but LA's own Garth Trinidad for putting me onto this last night while listening to his radio show. Float on after you press play.

  1. Bobby McFerrin is tha SH*T! If you don't know, you need to catch up and wake tha F*CK UP! This man is BRILLIANT! He can do it all: R&B, Jazz, Classical, Opera. And he does it at a level that most people cannot fathom. He probably could do metal and rock but I just don't think it's interests or challenges him. Too many dope albums of his to suggest but since most folks know him for his a cappella stuff, start at 'Simple Pleasures' (Yes, the 'Don't worry, Be Happy' album!) and work from there. You WILL be and feel blessed by his presence!!!

  2. ALways thought dude was on some other shit but I can rock to this joint.....................

  3. Bobby Mcferrin is a musical genius. I have been listening to him forever. His version of Blackbird by the Beatles is ridiculous and his new cd Vocabularies is rocking.

  4. Circle Songs> One of the best albums I've ever heard. Folks sleep on Bobby McF so hard. Thanks for putting him in the spotlight!
