Stevie Wonder Turns 60, Free Concert Planned In DC

Today is Stevie Wonder's 60th birthday, and the legendary singer deserves a happy-dance and his song "Happy Birthday" sung in his honor for consistently bringing us classic soul that endures over time. But, while speaking of happy dances, it looks like those who are eligible to get the
tickets to Stevie's upcoming free concert in Washington, DC may be the ones who will be getting their
dance on hardest of all.

On May 26th, members of the fire department, public school system, George
Washington University Hospital and other government agencies in Washington, DC will
get to be front and center for free as wealthy socialite Irene Pollin
and her sons Robert and Jim celebrate the end of their ownership of
the Washington Wizards and the Verizon Center with a private
concert titled "Living for the City" featuring Mr. Wonder himself to be held at the Verizon Center.

Robert Pollin said
in a statement that his family, "...deeply appreciated and respected
all the people who make the Verizon Center and our D.C. community
thrive. This concert is a way for our family to convey as emphatically
and joyfully as possible these same feelings of appreciation and
respect. We couldn't be more fortunate than to have the great Stevie
Wonder leading this celebration of our community."
