Singer TwinSpirit is that type of vocalist that helps you fall in love with soul music all over again. Starting out as a member of the female R&B trio Authentik Soul, she developed her strong stage presence with the soul outfit before the group disbanded in the late '90s. The trio performed at events and festivals all across the country and shared stages with many major label acts such as The O'Jays, H-Town, Ray J and Tamia. She later joined the band Afrodesia, lending her vocals to their hot blend of soulful jazz-inspired world music and reggae. As a soloist, TwinSpirit founded the Atlanta-based SofA concert series as a way to develop opportunities that pay artists to perform also, because, she says, "it has become increasingly challenging for performers to draw audiences to clubs and secure paying gigs." Working on her new album, My Beautiful Ugly, she is making moves to take her music to next level while sustaining projects that bring her fellow artists along for the ride.
