I'm all down for progression and experimentation. I'll still even give you your props if I hear something that I don't necessarily vibe to if I can manage to hear the beginnings of something new in the process. I heard no such thing in D'Angelo's track "Glass Mountain Trust" on Mark Ronson's Record Collection. I guess it just wasn't for me. I can, however, get with this remix of "Left and Right" from D's most excellent Voodoo done by Sam Champ. It's much more downtempo, and I'm sure will cause myself and those who like it to be called Badu freaks or Boho hippies or whatever, but I don't care. I like it. Take a listen and judge for yourself.
