'Don't Pass' This Spree Wilson & Esthero Joint 'By'

I was more than half sold on this track before even pressing play. I am not hugely familiar with Atlanta native Spree Wilson's work beyond last year's frantic yet harmonious "I Believe She's Lying," but any track produced by and/or featuring the reclusive Esthero is most likely a win for me. The two teamed up for the simple, breezy tune, "Don't Pass Me By," which invokes thoughts of warmer weather, frolicking lovers, and a dozen slow motion early '90s Tracy Chapman videos. Lyrically and melodically, there's nothing too complex here. It's just a minimally-produced, enjoyable lover's plea assisted by one of my favorite angelic voices. The tune comes from Spree's upcoming album The Never Ending Now, due this year.
