As much as I've heard the name Rahbi in recent years, I can't recall ever hearing a song by him, which is totally my bad because I've clearly been missing out. Now that I'm awake from my slumber, however, I'm making up for lost time and starting with his new stuff before I dig into his old. In advance of the release of his next studio album, which will be entitled GoldenChild, Rahbi released a maxi-single last month for the song "Rollercoaster." If you're a fan of the soulful electro funk of the '80s, then this PJ Morton produced track will make you pop lock and uprock with glee. The song is jamming but from what I've heard, you have not experienced Rahbi until you've seen his extravaganza of a line-stepping live show. Audiences will get to see Rahbi in the flesh in NYC this Thursday, February 3rd at Le Poisson Rouge as part of Kimberly Nichole's Rise of the Underground showcase and in his hometown of Atlanta on February 14th opening for Bilal on Valentine's Night. For the rest of us, we'll just strap ourselves in and hop on his "Rollercoaster."
