With news that Jill Scott is one of the headliners at this year's Essence Music Festival and that she's settled her lawsuits with Hidden Beach, things are looking good for a return to the scene from our favorite Philly jawn. She has been in the studio diligently recording new music, but until we get those fresh-out-of-the-oven tunes we have some oldies but goodies of hers that got the remix treatment from musician/producer Bryan Cogshell. According to Cogshell, Hidden Beach commissioned him to do R&B mixes of a few of Jill's songs for a remix project to accompany her HBO series The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency. Unfortunately that collection became caught up in a legal drama of its own, got shelved, and Bryan has had these tracks hidden away in his vaults.
