Stumbled across this snippet of news over at PINBOARDblog, and I have to say I'm more than a little excited. Timbaland and Missy Elliott were the dream team of the late '90s/early '00s and both their solo work and their collaborations with other artists--most notably Aaliyah--shaped the way music sounded going forward. I'm sure you would be hard pressed to find a hip hop or soul music producer who does not cite Timbaland as a major influence, and Missy has proved she can hold her own both behind and in front of the mic. The big question is will the duo be able to recapture the magic they once had? I'm on the fence, but I'm sure I'll enjoy finding out.
