Is Dionne Bromfield 'Foolin' Anyone?

Fifteen-year-old starlet Dionne Bromfield, god-daughter and protégé of Amy Winehouse, is certainly a star on the rise in the UK. After a mediocre reception to her debut album, Introducing Dionne Bromfield, which featured covers of songs from the '60s and '70s, she seems to have have hit her stride with her upcoming release, Good For The Soul. The first single "Yeah Right," an insanely catchy but by-the-numbers retro soul number, gained plenty of radio play, and the new single "Foolish" seems to be heading the same way. I can't help but think that the whole Dionne brand is a somewhat cynical ploy to cash in on Winehouse's success (and absence) with the creation of a mini-me as a gap-filler until she returns? Regardless of whether that's true or not, there's no denying the young lady has talent. The video for "Foolin" does absolutely nothing to enhance the song, but the vocals (both here and on "Yeah Right") have me interested enough to check out the album when it hits shelves on July 4th.
