Miss Jack Davey Offers Us 'Peace, Hope & Dope'

Whenever I get my hands on anything from the J*DaVeY/ILLAV8R camp, my usual reaction is to want more. First they blessed us with Evil Christian Cop, then embarked on a tour, then dropped visuals for "Raincheck." Along the way, flat top king Def Sound was officially added into the fold and has been pretty consistently releasing slick visuals to compliment his fresh-ass sound. Now, with news that the looooong-awaited New Designer Drug is coming sooner rather than "sometime before the Apocalypse," my anticipation has only increased for more from the crew. Showing that she, too, can make magic outside of the booth, Miss Jack Davey gives us "PHD," taken from a set of songs written and produced by The Ladytripper herself. Clocking in at just over two minutes, the short and sweet offbeat jaunt has a flow that reminds me of the opening of Cee-Lo's "Champain" (before the beat drops). "Peace, hope, and a little bit of dope," she sings on this track, effectively holding us hungry fans over until their full-length project drops from the sky.

The pair also whet our appetites with stills from the upcoming video for "Quicksand," likely premiering in the coming weeks.
