Raheem DeVaughn Is A 'Hopeless Romantic'

Between celebrating another birthday and getting the key to Washington, DC, it's safe to say that Raheem DeVaughn is having the best week ever. To cap this week's festivities, he's released a new video for the song "Hopeless Romantic," a cut off of The Love & War Masterpeace. After putting out some soft core, futuristic, and romantic visual displays, Raheem clearly likes to keep people guessing and switches it up again with his latest. Starting off with a random cameo by Dr. Cornel West extolling DeVaughn's virtues, the video
consists of a series of animated drawings (reminiscent of a-ha's classic '80's video "Take On Me") of Raheem, a woman's dancing silhouette, and the song's forlorn lyrics set to an uptempo beat. You would expect a common, dramatic mini-movie like so many artists
attempt do with this type of sentiment, so the fun animation is a good break from the norm.
