I've never heard of the masked, South London producer who goes by the name of SBTRKT before, but after listening to his collaboration with SoulBounce favorites Little Dragon, I will certainly be checking for him from now on. "Wildfire" has been tagged with the new buzz-word -- "post-dubstep" -- which puts him in the company of other Brits such as Jamie Woon and James Blake, however such labels are irrelevant. What I do know is that SBTRKT's production, combined with the sublime vocals of LD frontwoman Yukimi Nagano, has given us a storming slice of futuristic soul that'll be on repeat for the forseeable future. The track is a taste of what we can expect from SBTRKT's self-titled, full-length debut, which is scheduled to be released on the Young Turks label this June.
