If You're 'Searchin'' For Chubb Rock & Sybil, You've Found Them

Seeing the names Chubb Rock and Sybil together on one song has me checking my calendar to make sure that I didn't get transported back to the summer of 1989. I wouldn't be mad because that was one of the best summers of my life, but, alas, that time travel thing hasn't been perfected yet and we are smack dab at the tail end of the summer of 2011. This season not only brought the return of the Chubbster back on the charts with a guest spot on Eric Roberson's "Summertime Anthem," but now we get another blast from the past with Sybil joining Rock on his new single "Searchin' For Love." Sybil enjoyed a string of hits in the late '80s/early '90s when everybody was sweating out the starch in their clothes to her remakes of "Don't Make Me Over" and "Walk On By" around the same time as Chubb was encouraging us to "Treat 'Em Right." Here we are two decades later, and he's still rapping and she's still singing and they're doing both rather well on this track, which is the first song from an EP that he's dropping this month. We had to wait over 20 years for this collaboration to happen, but it's better late than never.
