Ever since happening to catch the first episode of Issa Rae's hilarious The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl web series, I've been hooked. One of the best parts of the series are the songs that the main character J comes up with and listens to during her many awkward situations ("Booty Shawts" is a personal fave). Well, if J is your awkward musical kindred spirit, then you'll be happy to know that you, too, can be a part of the ABG phenomenon. The series has partnered with BreakoutBand to bring you the "Awkward Rap Song Challenge." Now you can join the ranks of The Doublemint Twins and have your song featured in the credits of an episode of ABG and on the show's upcoming official soundtrack. The winner will have their song displayed on the show's Facebook fan page and get a personal video from Issa herself. So, if you've got a hardcore yet awkward rap song in you, no matter the length, send in your track by October 22nd to be considered.
