I've already made my feelings on this year's British version of X Factor clear, besides Misha B., and maybe one or two others, the talent this year is sorely lacking. If we rewind to last year the outlook was slightly better, mainly due to the presence of a woman named Rebecca Ferguson, whose husky, soulful vocals carried her through to the final, only to lose out to the blandest man in pop, Matt Cardle. As we have come to expect, a new season of X Factor also signals the release of albums from last year's crop, and Rebecca is no different. Reportedly working alongside songwriter Eg White (Adele's co-writer of choice), Rebecca will release her debut album in December, with the official single, "Nothing's Real But Love," dropping November 27th. A video featuring an acoustic take on the song has surfaced and finds Rebecca in fine vocal form, somewhat reminiscent of British soulstress Gabrielle, but it's the song itself, particularly the lyrics, that let this one down. Let's hope that this is just a warm-up and that Eg and Rebecca have managed to cook up some Adele-esque hits for the album.
