'Turn Your Lights Down' With Chris Turner

Acoustic performances have a way of breathing new life into a song, no matter how many times you've heard the original. The stripped-down backing always seems to cast a soothing, more relaxed vibe over a song. Singer Chris Turner has been working his vocal stylings over acoustic renditions of his songs and classics from other artists in a video series he's calling the "LOVEchild Acoustic Sessions." This week, Turner takes on the Bob Marley hit, "Turn Your Lights Down Low." The intimate video features just Turner and guitarist Rene Del Fiero performing in a sun-drenched room. Both intimate and informal, it's easy to imagine you're sitting right there as the two work their music magic. Other offerings in the series so far have included an equally cozy version of Sly and the Family Stone's funky "If You Want Me To Stay," as well as a bare bones reworking of the song that catapulted Turner onto SoulBounce's radar, "Liquid Love." What's old is new again with these vids. Be sure to head on over to his YouTube page to check out the other videos.
