This Drake Video Isn't Worthy Of Any 'Headlines'

Where Drake's "Marvin's Room" seemed to be on everyone's lips, his official Take Care single "Headlines" was pretty underwhelming overall. While "Room" was a different approach to Drake's particularly emo brand of hip hop, "Headlines" was just a bunch of false braggadocio wrapped in the same ol' production and same ol' flow. Well, if you were expecting some innovation to come from the video, you were also sorely mistaken. The video aims to be the the living embodiment of his interesting album cover for his forthcoming Take Care, complete with gold embellished furniture and scruffy facial hair. If that doesn't do it for you, he throws in some shots of him and his paid stand-ins crew, sitting at the head of a table like he's the Godfather and, of course, standing in front of expensive automobiles. In other words, rap video cliché after rap video cliché. Take Care is scheduled for release on October 24th, so it's just a matter of time before we discover if "Marvin's Room" or "Headlines" is closer to the project's overall sound.
