Elijah Kelley Shines A 'Light' On 'Red Tails'

I'm sure that my Black Card is under heavy review because I did not go out to see Red Tails on opening weekend. Previous engagements and a nasty cold had me hemmed up, but supporting the film while it's in theaters (no bootleg) is high on my agenda. Especially after seeing this video by one of the film's stars, Elijah Kelley, who was so moved by his experience working on the movie that he recorded a song. Kelley says that "Light Years" is now the "official" song of Red Tails, and the clip isn't so much a music video as it is a montage of scenes from the film, which actually works in this instance. The song's lyrics are uplifting and speak to the triumphs in the midst of struggles experienced by the Tuskegee Airmen during their World War II service. Check out a very crunk Elijah introducing the video in the first 30 seconds before you get into "Light Years," which isn't for sale yet from what I can gather, but will hopefully be making its way to iTunes and other music retailers soon.
