Take A Look At The Robert Glasper Experiment Making ‘Black Radio’

After hitting us with a three-piece combination last week with the first listen of songs from the upcoming album Black Radio, the Robert Glasper Experiment starts off this week by releasing an EPK for the project that has me ready to camp out at the record store until February 28th. I suspect your reaction will be the same after watching this behind the scenes look at Robert Glasper, Chris "Daddy" Dave, Derrick Hodge, and Casey Benjamin in the studio recording the album with various guest artists. Noses have been open for this collection ever since we saw the Black Radio tracklisting a couple months ago, but to see the likes of Yasiin Bey, Bilal, Lalah Hathaway, Stokley Williams, and other familiar faces in action is indeed awe-inspiring and drool-inducing. And extra added bonus is hearing Glasper talk about the project and its jazz roots but with an urban contemporary twist. But hearing never-before-heard snippets of Mos Bey's "Black Radio" and Lalah's cover of Sade's "Cherish the Day" is the big piece of chicken on top. Take a gander at the video package, and continue to mark the days off the calendar until Black Radio's release.
