Upon first sifting through the thousands of entries for Beyoncé's "End Of Time" Remix Competition, the lack of originality strikes a nerve and drains you of all interest quickly. Somehow we managed to make it past the first page of submissions and find an actual remix. Georgia drummer Ramon "Drum Ducer" Gaskin successfully revives the track, off of Beyoncé's 4, giving it the edge that Beyoncé's Michael Jackson/Fela Kuti inspired offering lacked.
As for Gaskin, not only does he often revamp and remix material and post his creations to his YouTube channel and SoundCloud page, but he has also worked closely with gospel music's rising star and recent Konvict Muzik signee Mali Music, producing "Jack In the Box" off of The Come Up mixtape. For the contest, which ends on March 8th, Beyoncé has offered a $4,000 prize as well as an appearance on an upcoming release, which will most likely be a re-release. If you're feeling Drum Ducer's spin on "End of Time" and want him to win big, then be sure to vote for him to get a place in the top 50 to be considered for the grand prize.
