Well the long wait is now over, Hawthorne Headhunters (currently comprised of Black Spade and Coultrain) have released Myriad of Now, the full-length follow up to last year's similarly-titled EP. We here at SoulBounce have been following the Headhunters for some time and, as is often the case, there is a certain amount of apprehension that accompanies a release from artists you dig. Thankfully HH have met -- no, in fact, surpassed -- the expectations I had for their full-length project, delivering an album that expertly combines hip-hop, experimental/alternative soul, and a healthy dose of good ol' funk. Favorites such as "Teleport" and "If You Were My Baby (Reprise)" are included, as well as new gems such as "Boats In Your Eyes" featuring I Am, and the feel-good funk of "Yellow Cougar."
