Kwabena Adjepong Transforms 'The Wilhelm Scream'

We introduced you to vocalist Kwabena Adjepong (aka Kwabs) only last month, and since then his star has continued to ascend at a rapid rate. The newcomer was named as the support act for rapper Plan B's recent shows in the UK, and now he's blessed those of us that are further afield with this video of his cover of fellow Brit James Blake's haunting track "The Wilhelm Scream." The video features Kwabs and his band doing a live reworking of the eerie track. Switching what was a sparse, haunting electronic track that focused one the use of effects to create a hollow atmosphere, to that of a soulful and heartfelt song. Thanks to Kwabs' unapologetically warm and flawless vocals, his ability to trigger emotion with each note he so effortlessly hits, and the band's restrained and thoughtful accompaniment, this is one cover that transforms the original and gives it new meaning. I dare you to watch this and not feel some type of emotion that you weren't feeling before you hit play. Joy, pain, heartache, love -- they are all evident within this stellar cover.
